Description:
This whimsical starry plate features a rustic, organic texture inspired by Japanese ceramic textures and surfaces. Perfect for serving biccies and cake.
 
Hand made by Danie using slab building techniques. Made from dark stoneware clay and finished with a chalky white glaze. I use a Japanese technique called 'Mishima', where I carve linework into the clay then fill in with black underglaze. The edges of and base of the plate is left unglazed with a vitrified stone-like surface with a tactile feel. Sealed with liquid quartz for a food safe surface.

Each hand-built ceramic piece is one of a kind, shaped by hand, highlighting its unique charm and imperfect beauty.

Handwash recommended.

The plate has a rim and a flat unglazed base.
